From May 28th until 30th, 2015 the conference "Forced Labor 1939-1945 in the Eastern European and German Remembrance Cultures. Past, Present, Future" took place at the Regional Center for Oral History in Voronezh.

CeDiS-employees Dr. Doris Tausendfreund and Dr. Cord Pagenstecher participated in the conference. Dr. Tausendfreund presented the project "Forced Labor 1939-1945. Memory and History" and especially the Russian version of the online archive. The project received very positive responses from the other participants. Dr. Pagenstecher held a lecture on the subject "Places of Forced Labor. The Local Remembrance Culture in Germany".

The main focus of the conference lied on the different remembrance cultures on Forced Labor in Eastern Europe and Germany during the Second World War. Apart from lectures abouth the theory and method of Oral History as well as remembrance cultures in general, numerous research works on the subject were presented. A field trip to three exemplary cementaries as important places of remembrance cultures was also part of the program.

The Regional Center for Oral History of the Institute for High Technologies in Voronezh is the Russian partner of CeDiS in the project "Forced Labor 1939-1945. Memory and History". The goal of the partnership is to take joint initatives to integrate the project in the Russian scientific and educational landscape.
