Conference "Remembering Forced Labor. Audio and Video Testimonies in the Digital World"

October, 4th – 6th 2012 at Freie Universität Berlin

Organized by the Center for Digital Systems at Freie Universität Berlin and the Foundation EVZ, the conference aims at reflecting on challenges and future perspectives in creating interview archives. By using the example of the project "Forced Labor 1939-1945. Memory and History", the conference will discuss usage possibilities and quality standards in building a digital interview collection. It will provide the opportunity for a lively exchange with current projects in other countries.

The conference language will be German.

New Places of Remembrance and Exhibitions

This spring - 80 years after the handover of power to the Nazis and 67 years after the liberation - new projects of rememberance in Berlin offer information also on the history of forced labor.

Exhibition "Forced Labor" in Warsaw

From January 9 until  March 8, 2013, the international exhibition "Forced Labor. The Germans, the Forced Laborers and the war" is on display in the Royal Palace of Warsaw.
