New Places of Remembrance and Exhibitions

This spring - 80 years after the handover of power to the Nazis and 67 years after the liberation - new projects of rememberance in Berlin offer information also on the history of forced labor.

Essay Collection on Video Interviews

The collection of the Foundation “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe” includes contributions about archiving and exploring/indexing video interviews of survivors including texts on the projects "Forced Labor 1939-1945" and "Visual History Archive". Being the voice of the murdered on the one hand and on the other speaking as "I" – this is what many holocaust survivors consider to be their task and responsibility.

Forecast 2010

The focus of the project "Forced Labor1939-1945" in 2010 will be on the completion of the work on teaching and learning material for use in schools education in Germany. Furthermore the archive platform will be enhanced and expanded by new interesting aspect through the continuous scholarly translation and indexing of the interviews.
