News from Apr 28, 2016

The E-Book "Airing the Past: Inquiries into Digital Memories" edited by Nuria Rodríguez Ortega, Fátima Díez-Platas and Seppo Kuivakari published the papers of the 5th Digital Memories conference in Oxford, September 2014. This anthology provides a variety of critical insights to examine the impact of media culture on the heterogeneous processes of building digital memories through different cultural practices. In his article, Cord Pagenstecher presents the online archive ‘Forced Labor 1939-1945. Memory and History’ and its mapping function which enables the user to locate the survivors’ experiences in a transnational digital context.
