A new version of the digital archive "Forced Labor 1939-1945" has been online since mid-June. Additional functions allow for detailed research through the life-story interviews.

The first version of the online archive was published in January 2009. Now, users can combine different search criteria within the collection. The new full text search enables  users to navigate to specific points within the interview.

Transcriptions and German translations are shown as video subtitles. Thus, making long, foreign language interviews more accessible to the German-speaking public. Headings and subheadings give a better overview during the interview.

The number of interviews already catalogued this way is growing with continued work of  segmentation, translation and indexing.

The process of access and registration remains unchanged. The project team is happy to answer any questions regarding the new archive version.
