The accompanying program of the exhibition “Forced Labor. The Germans, the Forced Laborers and the War” at the Jewish Museum Berlin in cooperation with the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” presents a talk with contemporary witness and former forced laborer Helena Bohle-Szacki on January 10th, 2011 at 6 pm. After the talk, the project team “Forced Labor 1939-1945” of Freie Universitaet Berlin will present new educational material that is based on interviews with Helena Bohle-Szacki and other contemporary witnesses.

Helena Bohle-Szacki was born in 1928 into a German-Polish-Jewish family in Białystok. She was arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 and deported to Ravensbrueck Concentration Camp. In an interview with the journalist Ewa Czerwiakowski, she will talk about abduction, forced labor and liberation. Helena Bohle-Szacki’s memories are part of the digital archive “Forced Labor 1939-1945. Memory and History".
