02/11/2011

New multimedia teaching material available

Accompanying the project "Forced Labor 1939-1945", the Freie Universitaet Berlin developed educational material “Video Testimonies for School Education". They were published in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Video Testimonies for School Education: Video – DVD – Learning Software – Teachers’ Book” support competence-oriented learning in the classroom, on class project days, and in exam presentations.

In a video DVD, five survivors recount their experiences in camps and factories. Additional films provide background information about forced labor, indemnification and about the online-archive. Learning software provides additional tasks, maps, transcripts and photos, informational texts and tips on methods of use, as well as a timeline and lexicon. An accompanying teachers’ book assists in the preparation of teaching, providing informational texts, suggestions for tasks and worksheets.

The DVDs and teachers’ book are available for order for a small shipping and handling charge of 7.00 € at www.bpb.de.
